How We Build Our Kitchens

Cobbitty Grove Kitchen's cabinets are manufactured in our factory and are constructed from high quality HMR (high moisture resistant board) which is machined to produce a mortise and tenon joint and screwed together using cabinet screws to ensure durability and strength. All exposed edges are sealed using a 1mm PVC square edge tape.

What is a mortise and tenon joint?

Mortise and tenon joints are among the strongest joints in woodworking and are used for projects that have frame construction and need to be strong. A mortise and tenon joint consists of a mortise which is a recess cut into a piece of wood that accepts a tenon and a tenon is a tongue at the end of a board that fits into a mortise.

Advantages of a mortise and tenon joint:

  • Neat and very strong
  • Join accuracy guaranteed
  • Difficult to pull apart
  • The join is hidden from sight
  • Durable and long lasting
